Mel Evans Foundation

This Foundation was set up in memory of Mel Evans MBE. Mel was diagnosed with MND in 2016, and  sadly passed away in July 2017. As a much loved father, grandfather, partner, friend and bowler who was responsible for bringing Crown Green Bowls back onto TV, we want this Foundation to become a lasting legacy to help those in society who are stricken by MND. The Foundation exists to raise awareness, organise fundraising events and to fund research, which will eventually cure MND.

We are passionate about raising awareness of Motor Neurone Disease. Everyone involved in our Foundation is united behind a shared passion to cure MND. We are an innovative charity, where every single person is powered by those with MND and those we have lost. A cure is not only a wish, it is an obsession.

Other charities

We have supported multiple MND charities and are open to this in the future. Jack Russell, former England cricketer and incredible artist has kindly supported Dave Setters’ City Against MND cricket day at Blackheath CC for many years. Money has gone to either My Name’5 Doddie or UK MND Research Institute. We have also raised several thousand pounds for Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. Including at Football Against MND.
